Delina Vasiliadi was born in Greece.

Because her mother, Lizetta Vasiliadi, is a painter, Delina started painting at an extremely young age. She became an intern at the studios of several important and well-known Greek painters, took painting classes [about colour and shape] and learnt painting technics. When she was very young, Delina was accepted, through a national contest, at an Experimental Fine Arts School for Children at Vafopoulio Centre of the Arts in Thessaloniki, and because of that, she was chosen to participate and act at a series of television shows that concearned painting and were broadcasted by the national television chanel. The title of the show was “Young Painters” and the goal of this project was to to introduce Art and Painting to children and to teach them painting and several basic painting technics.

Right after high-school, Delina studied economics, finance and accounting with several honors, awards and a full scholarship at the University of Macedonia in Greece, and she was the Valedictorian of her graduation year. For several years she worked professionally as a Financial Advisor and a Stockbroker for a major Greek Stock-Exchange company.

But, apart from all that, she also studied acting and directing at the Thessaloniki Drama School “PARATHLASI” and, later, acting at the New York Film Academy (NYFA) in Florence. She took several extra classes, seminars and master classes about theater (acting, directing and playwriting) and film (acting and directing) from many important people of the theater and the film industry, such as John Malcovic, Alfonso Cuaron, Luke Darden, Willem Dafoe, Oliver Stone, David Strathairn, Chris Cooper, Danny Glover, Pantelis Voulgaris and others.

Delina worked as an artistic director for several art-exhibitions and designed many theater programmes. But her heart was, always, set on painting.

In 2005 she had her first solo painting exhibition, which was sponsored by the mayor and the council of Thessaloniki at The Municipal Architecture Center of Thessaloniki.

In 2006 she had her second solo painting exhibition in Athens, Greece at “ARGO” Gallery at Kolonaki, while in 2007 many of her paintings were displayed for several months at the Pshyciatric Medical Center of Thessaloniki, which, apart from all the other theraputic methods, also practices Art-Therapy.

At the same year Delina created a painting in order to accompany one of the 20 fairy- tailes of the book “Story tellers and Painters” by Via Renou Apostolidi, upon the author’s request , along with 19 other painters from Greece and Cyprus – such as Mitaras, Fasianos, Tetsis and others. The book is published by “Ta Nea Ellinika” publishing house and is sponsored by the I. F. Kostopoulos Foundation.

In June 2007 Delina had her 4th solo art- exhibition at the Greek island Syros, at the capital of Kyklades, the city Ermoupolis, at the National Gallery of Kyklades. This show was sponsored by the mayor and the council of Syros, and was one of the events of the very important Art-Festival “ERMOUPOLIA”, that happens in Syros every year.

In February 2008 Delina Vasiliadi had her 5th solo art-exhibition in Thessaloniki at the Fomer Archaelogical Museum [Yeni Tzami], which was also sponsored by the mayor and the council of Thessaloniki.

The same year Delina partcipated at a group show in Thessaloniki called “Art’s Flame”, a group painting exhibition of several Greek painters, which was sponsored both by the Ministry Of Culture and the Ministry Of Macedonia-Thrace. This show has traveled around Greece and, also, was hosted by many European cities. 

In December 2008 she participated at two more group shows, one in Athens called “Rendez-vous Des Arts” [group painting exhibition of Greek and foreign painters] and at a group show called “Paintings” at Eirmos Gallery in Thessaloniki, where many well-known artists participated [Mitaras, Fasianos, Gigas, Tsoklis etc]. In January 2009 she participated once more at the group show “Art’s Flame” –that happens every year- and, also, at a group show of 200 artists at Technopolis, Athens.

It’s worth mentioning that many of her paintings are in several private and public collections in Europe and America. 

In 2004 Delina Vasiliadi worked as the Assistant Director at the play “Trees die standing tall” by Alessandro Kasona, that was directed by the actor, director and producer Yiannis Vouros at Veaki Theater in Athens.

She also acted in several plays and films [both feature and short].

While still in Drama School, Delina performed on stage and directed a play called “Study of the soul”, which was based on G. Themelis’ poetry.

Her first role on the big screen was in 2003 when she palyed “Queen Anna” at the feature film “Taste of centuries” directed by Zahos Samoladas. After that Delina acted in several short films, directed by Greek, American, South African and Mexican directors. For her role in the film “LOSS” (directed by Topalis Konstantinos) she was a nominee for the best actress award at the Morocco Short Film Festival. This film also participated in many other Film Festivals around the world, such as the NY Short Film Festival 2004, where got a special mention, the Los Angeles Short Film Festival 2006 as part of the official selection, the Paris Short Film Festival 2006 [official selection], the Barcelona Short Film Festival 2005 , where Loss got the best editing award, the San Fransisco Short Film Festival 2005 [special mention] and others...

In 2007 she starred in the short film called “THEREMIN” directed by Pastras Nikos, which participated at the Cannes Film Festival 2008 [Short Film Corner / Cannes festival 2008], at the Winnipeg International Film Festival 2008 [Canada], at the 1st International Corinthian Film Festival, at the 14th International Film Festival [official Greek selection] and at the 3rd Cyprus International Film Festival [Best Short Film Award].  Delina also hosted a series of short documentaries on Greece, directed by K. Topalis & V. Daniilidou, produced by the New York Film Organization.

Én 2008 Delina got a part in the feature film “A Simple Love Story” starring Billy Zane, Colloca Sylvia, Cammenos David, Spyros Fokas and directed by Vorris Dimitris [in english]. At the beggining of the same year she did the narration at the Video Art Film “Remember”, directed by Í. Pastras, while, the same summer, participated at the the foto-shoot and the cat-walk presentation of the Summer Collection of the Fashion Designer  Andria  Papadopoulou.

She finds time to write. In 2008 Delina started working for a weekly newspaper writing articles about the theater and theater-critics, while in 2005 she got the second national poetry award, at a contest organized by the Piraeus Center of Arts and Literature. A collection of poems that include Delina’s awarded poem was published two years later, in 2007, sponsored by the municipality of Piraeus.

She speaks greek [mother tongue], english and french.

In 2009 two art-books containing Delina’s artwork are expected to be released. The first is called “Contemporary Art Masters 2009” [USA and Europe] and the second is called “Modern Art 2009” [Europe].
